Neighbourhood Place - Community Building Initiative

About Neighborhood Place

The Neighbourhood Place – Community Building Initiative is funded by Central Alberta Child and family service authority (CFSA)

The project is designed to be a catalyst in supporting the goals and initiatives of Central Alberta CFSA within the community.

In the Neutral Hills Community this initiative helps to support :

  • The Community Capacity Building (former interagency) group
  • The Family Violence and Bullying Committee
  • The Early Development and discovery Years (TEDDY) ECMap Coalition

Promote and create awareness around:

  • Adoption
  • Kinship Care
  • Respite Care
  • Family Support for children with disabilities (FSCD)

Increase awareness/understanding of issues and challenges impacting children, youth and families in our community

Improve Communities ability to respond through collaboration to the needs of vulnerable children, youth and families.

Geographic Area Served:

Villages of Consort (population of 739) & Veteran (population of 293) & all of Special Areas #4 (population of 1310) which includes the six Hamlets of Hemaruka, Loyalist, Monitor, Kirriemuir, Altario & Compeer.

These communities are spread over 1,128,820 million acres and cover 1728 square miles (4475.82 square km).
